Gary Allen Henecke DD June 12th, 2005 P.M. The Root of it All Turn in your Bibles to Genesis 2:15-3:14 Romans 5:12-14 Through one man’s sin, sin entered the entire human race; death came through sin and so death passed to everyone - for all mankind sinned. Prior to the Law sin was in the world, although in the absence of the Law sin was not counted. Death even reigned from Adam to Moses over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam. Adam is the pattern of the One destined to come. Adam violated an express command of God and Moses gave the law of God clearly. Yet sin and death stalked all from Adam on till Moses, showing clearly that the sin of Adam brought terrible consequences upon all his offspring and corrupted all creation. Death has come upon infants and the mentally handicapped (also) as a result of sin, but one understands Paul to mean that they are not held responsible by the law of conscience.
Genesis 2:9 Out of the ground the Lord Yahweh made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:16 The Lord Yahweh gave the man this command, "You are free to eat of all the trees in the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die."
Micah 6:8 He has told you mortals what is good; what the LORD requires of you: to act justly, to love compassion, and to walk humbly with your God. We believe that sin came into the world through the disobedience of our first parents, and death by sin. We believe that sin is of two kinds: original sin or depravity, and actual or personal sin. We believe that original sin, or depravity, is that corruption of the nature of all the offspring of Adam by reason of which everyone is very far gone from original righteousness or the pure state of our first parents at the time of their creation, is averse to God, is without spiritual life, and inclined to evil, and that continually. We further believe that original sin continues to exist with the new life of the regenerate, until the heart is fully cleansed by the baptism with the Holy Spirit. We believe that original sin differs from actual sin in that it constitutes an inherited propensity to actual sin for which no one is accountable until its divinely provided remedy is neglected or rejected.
Genesis 3:5 God knows that on the day that you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.
Romans 5:12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
James 1:14 Each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
Why we have borders and nations (tribes) Why we have lawsuits and theft or murder Here is the root of all evil Rape – distortion – the shaping of truth
John 8:44 You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own nature; he is a liar and the father of the lie. Romans 1:25 They exchanged God’s truth for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
2 Corinthians 1:20 In him every one of God's promises is a "Yes." For this reason it is through him that we say the "Amen," to the glory of God.
Full of conflict and greed - Even when dressed up as patriotism – Even when clothed as good society 2 Corinthians 3:18 Each of us, with an unveiled face reflecting the glory of the Lord as a mirror, is being transformed into his likeness from glory to glory - all of this is of the Lord who is the Spirit. |
